Job Description

A Banquet Server is responsible for setting up and serving food and beverages at events such as weddings, conferences, and corporate gatherings. They ensure the smooth operation of the event by delivering excellent service, maintaining cleanliness, and following event-specific protocols. Banquet Servers work in collaboration with the kitchen and event staff to provide guests with a positive and memorable dining experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up banquet tables, chairs, linens, and silverware according to event specifications.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Attend to guest needs and requests during the event, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and accurate food delivery.
  • Clear plates, glasses, and utensils during and after meals, maintaining a clean and organized event space.
  • Assist in the breakdown and cleanup of the banquet hall after the event.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and hygiene practices.
  • Provide support for any last-minute changes or requests during the event.
  • Communicate with event coordinators and other staff to ensure all event requirements are met.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a serving or hospitality role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

Work Environment:

  • Typically held in banquet halls, hotels, event centers, or outdoor venues.
  • Fast-paced and physically demanding, involving standing for long periods and carrying trays.
