The Video Editor is responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director’s vision and is suitable for broadcasting. This role involves editing video content, adding effects, and ensuring high-quality production standards.
Responsibilities:
- Review and edit raw footage to create a cohesive and engaging final product.
- Collaborate with directors, producers, and other team members to understand project goals and vision.
- Select and arrange footage, audio, and graphics to enhance storytelling and overall presentation.
- Add special effects, sound, music, and voiceovers to videos as needed.
- Ensure all edits are completed on time and within budget.
- Maintain and organize video files and archives for easy access and future use.
- Stay updated on industry trends and editing software to enhance skills and techniques.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to video editing equipment and software.
- Prepare video content for various platforms, including social media, websites, and television.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media Arts, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a video editor or similar role.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, and compression techniques.
