Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Produce Clerk to join our team. The Produce Clerk will be responsible for stocking, organizing, and maintaining the produce section, ensuring that customers have access to fresh and high-quality fruits and vegetables. Responsibilities
- Stock and display produce items, ensuring that shelves are organized, visually appealing, and fully stocked.
- Monitor produce quality, regularly checking for spoilage and removing damaged items.
- Assist customers with questions, provide information about produce items, and offer recommendations as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized produce section, following health and safety guidelines.
- Rotate stock to ensure that older items are used first and new deliveries are placed correctly.
- Receive and unpack produce deliveries, checking for quality and accuracy of orders.
- Prepare and package produce items, including weighing, bagging, and pricing items as needed.
- Assist in maintaining inventory records and reporting any discrepancies or shortages to management.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure that the produce section meets store standards and customer expectations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a retail, grocery, or produce department is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle produce carefully.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Basic math skills for weighing, pricing, and handling transactions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
