The Food Expeditor acts as a crucial link between the kitchen and the dining area, ensuring that food is prepared, plated, and served efficiently and accurately. This role involves coordinating with kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely service and exceptional food quality.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and check incoming food orders from the kitchen to ensure accuracy and quality
• Organize and plate food items according to restaurant standards and presentation guidelines
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner
• Relay orders and modifications from servers to the kitchen to minimize errors
• Monitor the progress of food orders to ensure they are delivered promptly to the dining area
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expediting area, including utensils, plates, and serving trays
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen and dining area as needed
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any concerns or special requests from servers and guests
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive and efficient work environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff and servers
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (e.g., trays of food)
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
