The Cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently, handling payments, and providing excellent customer service. They ensure that the checkout process is smooth, assist with any inquiries, and maintain a clean and organized checkout area. The Cashier also supports store operations by balancing cash registers and handling basic customer service tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Process customer purchases through the cash register, including handling cash, credit, and debit card payments.
• Ensure accurate scanning of items and apply any discounts or promotions as needed.
• Provide friendly and prompt customer service, including answering inquiries and addressing complaints.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient checkout area.
• Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Assist customers with bagging or packaging their purchases.
• Monitor store inventory during checkout and report any shortages or issues.
• Follow all store policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with store policies.
• Report any discrepancies, such as overages or shortages, to store management.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and balancing the register.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is an advantage.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Work Environment:

• Retail store environment, requiring frequent standing and interaction with customers.
• Exposure to busy, high-traffic areas within the store.
