The Video Editor is responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director’s vision and is suitable for broadcasting. This role involves editing video content, adding effects, and ensuring high-quality production standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and edit raw footage to create a cohesive and engaging final product.
  • Collaborate with directors, producers, and other team members to understand project goals and vision.
  • Select and arrange footage, audio, and graphics to enhance storytelling and overall presentation.
  • Add special effects, sound, music, and voiceovers to videos as needed.
  • Ensure all edits are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain and organize video files and archives for easy access and future use.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and editing software to enhance skills and techniques.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to video editing equipment and software.
  • Prepare video content for various platforms, including social media, websites, and television.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media Arts, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a video editor or similar role.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, and compression techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to contribute innovative ideas for video content.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a team.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based or studio environment, with opportunities for remote work depending on the project.
  • Fast-paced atmosphere that requires flexibility and adaptability to changes.
