The Billing Manager oversees the billing operations and processes within an organization, ensuring the accurate and timely generation of invoices, payments, and financial transactions. This role is responsible for managing a billing team, implementing efficient billing systems, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Billing Manager also handles customer billing inquiries, resolves discrepancies, and collaborates with other departments to optimize revenue collection and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead the billing department to ensure efficient invoicing and payment processing.
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of accurate invoices to customers.
  • Monitor and resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement billing policies, procedures, and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and contractual obligations.
  • Analyze billing data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to reconcile accounts and report on revenue.
  • Train and mentor billing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and performance standards.
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding billing issues and provide resolution.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on billing activities, revenue, and collections to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Billing Manager, Billing Supervisor, or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of billing and invoicing processes.
  • Proficiency in billing software and financial systems.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based, with regular interaction with finance, accounting, and customer service teams.
  • May involve managing remote billing teams depending on the organization’s structure.
