Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and organized Fleet Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our vehicle fleet. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing the maintenance, scheduling, and utilization of our fleet, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulations. This role requires excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and fleet management practices. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and operation of the vehicle fleet to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections for all vehicles, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle utilization to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle registrations, licenses, and inspections, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Work closely with drivers to ensure they are properly trained and adhere to company policies and safety standards.
  • Manage fleet inventory, tracking vehicle usage, mileage, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers for maintenance, fuel, and vehicle procurement.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on fleet performance, expenses, and trends, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in the development and management of the fleet budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role within logistics, transportation, or fleet management.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, fleet operations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with drivers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to optimize fleet performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally for fleet inspections or vendor meetings.
