As a Game Warden, you will play a vital role in protecting wildlife and their habitats, ensuring that local laws and regulations are enforced to promote sustainable practices. Your love for the outdoors and ability to educate the public about wildlife conservation will be essential in this rewarding position.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce state and federal wildlife laws, regulations, and statutes to protect wildlife and their habitats
  • Conduct patrols in designated areas, including parks, forests, and wetlands, to monitor wildlife populations and ensure compliance with hunting and fishing regulations
  • Investigate reports of wildlife violations, poaching, and illegal hunting activities, collecting evidence and preparing reports for legal proceedings
  • Educate the public on wildlife conservation practices, regulations, and safe outdoor activities through community outreach programs
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and organizations to protect natural resources and promote conservation efforts
  • Assist in wildlife population surveys and habitat assessments to help inform management strategies
  • Respond to emergencies and accidents involving wildlife, providing assistance and support as needed
  • Provide guidance and support to the public regarding safe interactions with wildlife and outdoor safety tips
  • Maintain accurate records of patrol activities, investigations, and public interactions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in wildlife management, environmental science, criminal justice, or a related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of local wildlife laws, regulations, and conservation practices
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for public education and enforcement interactions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience in law enforcement or wildlife conservation is a plus
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to undergo background checks and training

Work Environment:

  • Work will primarily take place outdoors in natural settings, including forests, rivers, and wildlife reserves
  • May involve irregular hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
