As an Arborist, you will be the guardian of trees and urban greenery, playing a critical role in maintaining and promoting healthy ecosystems. Your expertise in tree care will not only enhance the beauty of our landscapes but also ensure the safety and well-being of our communities. You will be responsible for assessing tree health, performing necessary treatments, and educating the public about the importance of trees in our environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed inspections of trees to assess health, structural integrity, and any signs of disease or pest infestation
- Develop and implement tree care plans, including pruning, cabling, and bracing, to promote healthy growth and longevity
- Perform tree removal when necessary, ensuring safety protocols are followed to minimize risks to property and individuals
- Educate clients and the public about proper tree care, maintenance techniques, and the environmental benefits of trees
- Collaborate with landscape architects and urban planners to integrate trees into new developments and public spaces
- Maintain accurate records of tree assessments, treatments, and maintenance activities
- Stay updated on the latest industry practices, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines concerning tree care
- Use specialized tools and equipment for tree maintenance, ensuring proper care and safety measures are in place
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote tree planting initiatives and environmental stewardship
Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in arboriculture, horticulture, forestry, or a related field preferred
- Certification as an Arborist from an accredited organization (e.g., ISA – International Society of Arboriculture) is a plus
- Strong knowledge of tree species, growth patterns, and proper care techniques
- Ability to operate specialized equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts safely
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and the public
- Previous experience in tree care or landscape maintenance is preferred
- Valid driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus
Work Environment:
- Work will primarily be conducted outdoors in various settings, including residential areas, parks, and commercial properties
- The job may involve climbing trees, operating heavy machinery, and working at heights
