The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage operations within a restaurant, hotel, or other hospitality establishment. This role involves managing staff, ensuring high-quality service, and maintaining profitability while delivering an exceptional dining experience for guests.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement food and beverage policies and procedures to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency
- Manage day-to-day operations of the food and beverage department, including budgeting, inventory control, and staff management
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff, ensuring adherence to service standards and fostering a positive work environment
- Create and update menus in collaboration with chefs, ensuring a diverse and appealing selection of food and beverages
- Monitor food and beverage costs, pricing strategies, and revenue targets to maximize profitability
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations in all food and beverage operations
- Analyze customer feedback and service standards to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes
- Collaborate with marketing teams to promote special events, promotions, and new menu items
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality products and negotiate favorable terms
- Stay informed about industry trends and competitors to keep the food and beverage offerings competitive
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management, or a related field is preferred
- Proven experience in food and beverage management or a related role within the hospitality industry
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
