We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to handle the accurate and timely submission of medical claims to insurance companies. The Medical Biller will be responsible for verifying patient insurance information, coding services accurately, and ensuring prompt payment. This role is critical to maintaining smooth billing operations and providing support to both healthcare providers and patients.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and submit medical claims to insurance companies and third-party payers
• Verify patient insurance information and ensure accuracy in billing
• Apply appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes to medical services rendered
• Resolve discrepancies in claims and follow up with insurance companies to ensure timely payment
• Address and resolve denied or rejected claims, providing additional information as needed
• Post payments to patient accounts and ensure accurate records of all transactions
• Work with patients on billing issues, explaining charges and payment options
• Prepare billing reports and maintain organized records of claims and payments
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, coding staff, and insurance representatives to ensure proper billing practices
• Stay updated on changes to healthcare regulations and billing practices

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing or coding is a plus
• 1-3 years of experience in medical billing or healthcare billing
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
• Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Kareo, AdvancedMD) and Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to resolve billing discrepancies and follow up on unpaid claims
• Familiarity with healthcare insurance and medical terminology
