Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Credit Manager to oversee the company’s credit policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing credit risk, managing customer credit accounts, and ensuring timely collections while maintaining strong customer relationships. This role plays a vital part in optimizing the company’s cash flow and minimizing financial risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to mitigate risk and enhance cash flow
  • Analyze credit applications and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers
  • Monitor and review customer accounts, including payment history and credit limits, to identify potential risks
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure a balanced approach to credit management
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers to facilitate timely payment of invoices
  • Prepare and present reports on credit risk, outstanding receivables, and collection efforts to senior management
  • Conduct regular credit reviews and make recommendations for adjustments to credit limits
  • Lead and manage the collections process, including follow-ups on overdue accounts and negotiating payment plans
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting credit management practices
  • Train and mentor team members on credit assessment and collection techniques

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in credit management or financial analysis
  • Strong understanding of credit policies, financial regulations, and risk assessment
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Leadership skills with experience in managing a team (preferred)
