We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Mortgage Loan Processor to join our lending team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the loan processing pipeline, ensuring timely and accurate processing of mortgage applications from initial submission to closing. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, loan officers, and underwriters.
Responsibilities:
- Review mortgage loan applications for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all required documentation is provided
- Communicate with borrowers to gather additional information or clarify details regarding their loan applications
- Analyze credit reports, income documentation, and other financial information to assess borrower eligibility
- Prepare and submit loan files to underwriting for approval, ensuring compliance with company policies and lending regulations
- Monitor the status of loan applications throughout the processing pipeline, providing updates to borrowers and loan officers as needed
- Coordinate with various departments, including underwriting, appraisal, and closing, to ensure a smooth loan process
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the processing of loan applications
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all loans processed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Stay updated on industry trends, lending regulations, and changes in mortgage products
- Assist in training and mentoring junior processors as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred
- 2+ years of experience in mortgage loan processing or a related role
- Strong knowledge of mortgage products, lending regulations, and processing procedures
- Proficiency in mortgage loan processing software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
- Ability to manage multiple loan applications and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
