The Driver is responsible for transporting goods, materials, or passengers safely and efficiently from one location to another. This role requires adherence to traffic regulations and company policies while providing exceptional customer service. A professional attitude and good time management skills are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a company vehicle to deliver goods or transport passengers as assigned
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries or pickups
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring safe handling and securing of materials
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery status and any issues encountered
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road
- Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained, reporting any mechanical issues to management
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients and customers during deliveries
- Assist with inventory management and organization when necessary
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in a driving position or transportation role is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs)
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends if necessary
- Familiarity with GPS systems and basic map-reading skills
Work Environment:
- Primarily operates in a vehicle, with time spent outside for loading/unloading
- Exposure to various weather conditions while driving
- May require extended periods of sitting during transport
