As a Certified Lifeguard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of swimmers and maintaining a secure aquatic environment. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor the activities in and around the pool or beach area, providing immediate assistance in emergencies. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are vigilant, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for promoting water safety.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise swimmers and enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid and CPR when necessary
- Conduct regular safety checks of the pool or beach area, including equipment and facilities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by monitoring water quality and ensuring proper chemical balance
- Communicate effectively with patrons regarding safety practices and rules
- Assist in organizing and participating in swim lessons and water safety programs
- Attend regular training sessions to stay updated on lifesaving techniques and emergency response
- Prepare incident reports for any accidents or safety violations that occur
- Collaborate with other lifeguards and facility staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing safety initiatives
Requirements:
- Current certification in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and AED (American Red Cross or equivalent)
- Strong swimming skills and comfort in the water
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be at least 16 years old (or as required by local regulations)
- Previous lifeguard experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform rescues if necessary
Work Environment:
- Work primarily in outdoor and indoor pool environments
- May require standing for extended periods and exposure to varying weather conditions
