Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and reliable House Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of a private household. The House Manager will be responsible for ensuring the home runs smoothly, managing staff, coordinating events, and handling household administrative tasks. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the household, ensuring everything is running smoothly and efficiently
  • Manage household staff, including scheduling, training, and supervising their performance
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and services for the home, including working with contractors and vendors
  • Plan and organize household events, dinners, and gatherings, ensuring all logistics are handled
  • Manage household budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective purchasing of supplies and services
  • Handle household administrative tasks, such as paying bills, managing schedules, and organizing records
  • Assist with personal errands and tasks for household members as needed
  • Ensure the home is kept clean, well-maintained, and stocked with necessary supplies
  • Oversee security measures and ensure the safety of the household
  • Act as a liaison between the family, staff, and any external parties to ensure clear communication and smooth operations

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a House Manager or in a similar role managing a private household or estate
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to train and oversee household staff
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of household management best practices, including budgeting, event planning, and vendor relations
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks, including some personal errands and responsibilities
  • Discretion and confidentiality are critical for handling sensitive information and household matters
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Work Environment:

  • Primarily based in the household, with some travel to run errands or manage external services
  • Fast-paced and dynamic environment, with responsibilities varying based on household needs
