Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and experienced Casting Director to join our production team. The Casting Director will be responsible for identifying, auditioning, and selecting talent for film, television, theater, or commercial projects. This role requires a strong eye for talent, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of character development and storytelling. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with producers, directors, and other key stakeholders to understand the casting needs and vision for each project.
  • Create and distribute casting calls, and manage submissions from agents and talent.
  • Conduct auditions and callbacks, providing direction and feedback to actors to help them perform their best.
  • Evaluate talent based on their suitability for roles, considering factors such as skills, experience, and chemistry with other cast members.
  • Maintain a database of potential talent and keep updated records of auditions and selections.
  • Work closely with agents and managers to negotiate contracts and secure talent for projects.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging talent, and casting best practices.
  • Attend industry events, showcases, and networking opportunities to scout for talent and build relationships within the acting community.
  • Provide guidance and support to actors throughout the casting process, including feedback and advice on auditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theater, Film, Communications, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience as a Casting Director or in a similar role within the entertainment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of acting techniques, character development, and the casting process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of personalities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A deep understanding of the industry landscape, including trends, talent agencies, and production companies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on project demands.
  • A network of industry contacts, including actors, agents, and casting professionals.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with regular attendance at auditions, rehearsals, and production meetings.
