We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Managing Editor to lead our editorial team. The Managing Editor will be responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality content, managing editorial staff, and ensuring that all publications meet established standards and deadlines. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the editorial team, providing guidance, support, and feedback to writers, editors, and other staff members.

  • Plan and coordinate content schedules, ensuring timely delivery of articles, features, and other editorial materials.
  • Review and edit submissions for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines, providing constructive feedback to writers.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and design, to create cohesive and engaging content that aligns with the organization’s goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and audience preferences to inform content strategy and development.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and facilitate professional development opportunities for editorial staff.
  • Maintain relationships with freelance writers, contributing editors, and industry contacts to expand the publication’s reach and influence.
  • Ensure that all content adheres to legal and ethical standards, including copyright and plagiarism guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Editor, Managing Editor, or in a similar role within the publishing industry.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Familiarity with digital publishing platforms and content management systems (CMS).
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and social media strategies for content promotion.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
