Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic News Producer to join our editorial team. The News Producer will be responsible for overseeing the production of news segments, managing the editorial process from story development to on-air execution. Responsibilities
- Develop and produce news stories for broadcasts, ensuring content is timely, accurate, and engaging.
- Collaborate with reporters, anchors, and videographers to gather information and produce compelling news segments.
- Write and edit scripts, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to the station’s style and standards.
- Oversee the daily news operation, including coordinating live shots, interviews, and breaking news coverage.
- Monitor news sources and trends to identify relevant stories and breaking news developments.
- Manage editorial meetings, pitching story ideas, and setting editorial priorities.
- Ensure compliance with journalistic ethics and standards, promoting fairness and balance in reporting.
- Coordinate with technical staff to ensure smooth execution of news segments, including graphics and video content.
- Train and mentor junior producers and interns, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a News Producer or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of produced news segments.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in newsroom software and production tools, with familiarity in video editing software a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
