Job Summary
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Stage Manager to join our production team. The Stage Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of a theatrical production, ensuring that everything runs smoothly from rehearsals through to the final performance. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for the performing arts. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the director, cast, and crew to coordinate schedules, rehearsals, and production meetings.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive prompt book, documenting all cues, blocking, and technical details.
- Manage rehearsals, ensuring that all actors and crew are prepared and informed of their responsibilities.
- Coordinate set changes, lighting, sound cues, and other technical elements during performances.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the cast and crew, addressing any issues or concerns that arise during production.
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed and that the performance space is prepared and safe for cast and crew.
- Communicate effectively with all production staff, including designers, technicians, and stage crew, to facilitate a collaborative working environment.
- Conduct post-show evaluations and meetings to discuss successes and areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts, Stage Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Stage Manager or in a similar role within theater production.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in stage management software and tools, as well as familiarity with technical equipment and stagecraft.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for rehearsals and performances.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
