The Photoshoot Stylist will be responsible for curating and styling looks for fashion photoshoots, advertisements, e-commerce shoots, and editorial campaigns. This role involves collaborating with photographers, models, makeup artists, and designers to ensure the visual aesthetic aligns with the brand’s image and vision. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of fashion trends, and the ability to create cohesive and visually captivating looks that elevate the product and brand.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with photographers, creative directors, and brand teams to plan and execute styling for photoshoots
- Curate outfits, accessories, and props for fashion shoots, ensuring consistency with the brand’s image
- Style garments and models during photoshoots, ensuring all items are displayed attractively and appropriately
- Stay up-to-date on fashion trends and integrate them into styling choices that resonate with the target audience
- Coordinate with makeup artists and hairstylists to ensure the complete look is cohesive and on-brand
- Source and manage clothing, accessories, and props for shoots, ensuring all items are available and ready for use
- Work closely with the brand team to understand the theme, mood, and aesthetic required for each shoot
- Ensure all items are returned to designers, stores, or rental agencies after the shoot, maintaining organization and proper documentation
- Adjust and perfect outfits during the shoot to ensure they look visually flawless from all angles
- Manage and organize wardrobes for e-commerce shoots, ensuring products are neatly presented and styled for maximum appeal
- Assist in set design and overall shoot layout when needed, ensuring the background complements the clothing and accessories being featured
- Create mood boards and style guides in advance of shoots to present ideas and ensure alignment with the creative vision
- Ensure garments fit models correctly by pinning, altering, or using fashion tape as necessary
- Manage time effectively on set to ensure shoots run smoothly and within the scheduled timeframe
- Communicate with the brand or fashion house regarding any specific styling requirements for the shoot
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a fashion stylist, preferably with experience in photoshoots, fashion shows, or e-commerce styling
- Excellent sense of style and knowledge of current fashion trends, fabrics, colors, and designers
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating visually stunning outfits
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to last-minute changes
- Strong organizational skills to manage clothing, accessories, and props efficiently
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with photographers, models, makeup artists, and designers
- Experience in coordinating and styling looks that align with a brand’s image and target market
- Strong visual storytelling ability to convey a brand’s message through fashion and styling
- Knowledge of fashion brands, luxury labels, and emerging designers
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once and meet tight deadlines
- A creative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving on set
- Basic knowledge of photography and set design is a plus
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience styling for high-profile brands, magazines, or fashion publications
- Understanding of the technical aspects of a photoshoot, including lighting and camera angles that enhance clothing presentation
- Ability to anticipate and solve styling challenges quickly on set
- Familiarity with fashion PR and the process of borrowing and returning items from designers or showrooms
