Job Description

The Head of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of an organization, ensuring financial stability, and driving strategic financial planning. This leadership role involves managing budgets, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Head of Finance works closely with the executive team to align financial goals with business objectives, guiding the company towards growth and profitability. This role also involves managing finance teams, liaising with external stakeholders, and providing key insights into the financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s long-term goals.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis activities.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage risk, and ensure optimal allocation of financial resources.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Manage and develop the finance team, including accountants, analysts, and controllers.
  • Provide strategic advice to the CEO and senior management on financial matters.
  • Collaborate with departments to optimize financial processes and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct financial due diligence and oversee investment activities, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Monitor market trends and provide recommendations for improvement in financial performance.
  • Present financial reports and analyses to the board of directors and key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in a senior finance role, with proven leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial accounting, corporate finance, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience in managing financial operations in a complex organization.
  • Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-financial managers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software.
  • High level of integrity and ability to manage confidential information.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based with occasional travel for business meetings and conferences.
  • Interaction with senior management, board members, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative environment with other department heads to ensure financial alignment with operational goals.
