The Transportation Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the transportation operations within the organization, ensuring efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Oversee daily transportation operations, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with regulations
- Manage relationships with carriers, freight companies, and other stakeholders to negotiate rates and services
- Monitor and analyze transportation metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and legal regulations related to transportation and logistics
- Coordinate with other departments, such as warehousing and inventory management, to align transportation with overall business operations
- Manage the transportation budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Lead and mentor the transportation team, providing training and development to improve performance
- Address and resolve transportation-related issues, including delays, damages, and customer complaints
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve transportation operations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in transportation management or logistics, preferably in a managerial role
