As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and sashimi dishes that meet our restaurant’s standards of excellence. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and create a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality, sourcing local products when possible
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to develop new sushi recipes and seasonal specials
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and presentation
- Ensure proper handling and storage of seafood and other ingredients to maintain freshness
- Engage with customers, providing insights on sushi options and accommodating special requests
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role is required
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation, knife skills, and food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders simultaneously
