Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to manage and oversee the payroll process for our company. The role involves ensuring accurate and timely payroll calculations, compliance with payroll regulations, and collaboration with the finance team to maintain employee compensation records. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about payroll procedures and accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy in wages, taxes, and deductions
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee data and compensation information
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations for internal use and external audits
  • Address payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll-related inquiries
  • Calculate and process bonuses, commissions, and other special payments
  • Manage employee benefits deductions, including health insurance and retirement contributions
  • Collaborate with the finance department on budgeting and forecasting payroll expenses
  • Assist in year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution
  • Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing or accounting
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
  • Strong understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, and compliance regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with employees at all levels
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools
