We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. This role is essential for maintaining compliance with accounting principles and facilitating efficient financial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
- Process invoices, expense reports, and payments, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
- Perform reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing financial data and analysis
- Collaborate with auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all financial transactions and related paperwork
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
