Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our human resources team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of payroll systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accurate calculations of wages, overtime, deductions, and taxes
  • Maintain employee records and ensure that payroll data is up to date, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation
  • Review and verify timesheets, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws, staying updated on changes in legislation
  • Collaborate with the HR team to support benefits administration and manage employee deductions for benefits programs
  • Assist in the preparation of annual payroll budgets and forecasting payroll expenses
  • Conduct periodic audits of payroll processes to identify and implement improvements for efficiency and accuracy
  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance knowledge of payroll systems and compliance issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 2-4 years of experience in payroll processing or human resources, with a solid understanding of payroll regulations and practices
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar systems) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll data
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels
