Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Claims Adjuster to join our insurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance claims, determining coverage, and negotiating settlements. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of insurance policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and investigate insurance claims to determine the extent of the insurer’s liability
  • Collect and analyze relevant information, including police reports, medical records, and witness statements
  • Assess damages and losses to establish the value of claims, ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations
  • Communicate with policyholders, claimants, and other stakeholders to gather information and clarify claim details
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants and legal representatives, ensuring fair and equitable outcomes
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting the claims process, findings, and recommendations for settlement
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, legal developments, and best practices in claims management
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure efficient claims processing and resolution
  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance knowledge of claims adjusting and insurance practices
  • Provide exceptional customer service to claimants and policyholders throughout the claims process

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 2-4 years of experience in claims adjusting, insurance, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues
  • Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple claims simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards
