The Forensic Psychologist plays a crucial role in the intersection of psychology and the legal system, applying psychological principles to assist in legal matters. This position involves conducting assessments, providing expert testimony, and collaborating with legal professionals to evaluate the mental state of individuals involved in legal proceedings. Forensic Psychologists contribute to understanding criminal behavior and the psychological factors influencing legal cases.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychological evaluations of individuals involved in criminal cases, civil litigation, and family law matters
• Analyze psychological assessments and present findings in written reports for court use
• Provide expert testimony in court regarding psychological evaluations, assessments, and treatment plans
• Collaborate with attorneys, law enforcement, and other professionals to provide insights into psychological issues relevant to legal cases
• Develop treatment plans for individuals in the criminal justice system, including those with mental health disorders
• Stay current on laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines related to forensic psychology
• Conduct research on criminal behavior, mental health issues, and other relevant topics to inform practice and contribute to the field
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive approaches to individual cases
• Provide consultation and training to legal professionals and law enforcement on psychological aspects of cases

Requirements:

• Doctoral degree in psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) with a specialization in forensic psychology
• State licensure to practice psychology, with additional certification in forensic psychology preferred
• Previous experience conducting psychological evaluations and providing expert testimony in legal settings
• Strong understanding of legal processes, ethical considerations, and the criminal justice system
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
• Strong research skills and the ability to stay updated on developments in forensic psychology
