The Order Picker is responsible for accurately picking and preparing orders for shipment in a warehouse or distribution center. This role involves using various equipment and technology to ensure that products are selected, packed, and labeled correctly for delivery. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Retrieve items from warehouse shelves and storage areas according to order specifications
• Verify the accuracy of picked items against order lists to ensure correctness
• Use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or order pickers to move products as needed
• Pack items securely for shipment, ensuring they are protected from damage during transit
• Label packages accurately, including shipping and handling instructions
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
• Assist in inventory management by reporting discrepancies or low stock levels to supervisors
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment and handling products
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily picking and shipping goals
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge about products and safety standards

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role is a plus, but not required
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) preferred; certification may be required
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks for extended periods
• Basic math skills to perform calculations related to order picking
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary
