Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. In this role, you will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and safety, and maintaining an efficient workflow. You will lead the kitchen team to consistently deliver high-quality meals while adhering to health standards and optimizing operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to creating a positive working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and high-quality food preparation
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring consistency in taste, portion sizes, and presentation
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and receiving ingredients, and tracking food costs to minimize waste
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, enforcing food safety and sanitation standards
  • Develop and implement efficient workflows to optimize productivity during busy service periods
  • Collaborate with the head chef to plan menus, introduce new dishes, and adjust offerings based on seasonal ingredients
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is well-maintained, and arrange for repairs or replacements when necessary
  • Monitor kitchen expenses and labor costs, making adjustments as needed to meet budgetary goals
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, set goals, and resolve any operational challenges
  • Handle any customer complaints related to food quality or service, ensuring timely resolution and satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a managerial role within a kitchen or restaurant environment is required
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen sanitation practices
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail in maintaining kitchen efficiency
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of menu planning, inventory control, and cost management
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
