We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Reporter to join our news team. The Reporter will be responsible for researching, writing, and reporting news stories across various platforms, including print, digital, and broadcast. Responsibilities

  • Research, investigate, and gather information on news topics, events, and issues relevant to the community and beyond.
  • Write clear, accurate, and engaging news articles, features, and reports for various media platforms.
  • Conduct interviews with sources, including experts, public officials, and community members, to gather diverse perspectives.
  • Attend and cover news events, press conferences, and public meetings to report on relevant developments.
  • Verify information and fact-check stories to ensure accuracy and adherence to journalistic standards.
  • Collaborate with editors, photographers, and other team members to produce high-quality content.
  • Stay up to date on current events, trends, and issues within the community and industry.
  • Utilize social media and digital platforms to promote stories and engage with the audience.
  • Meet deadlines consistently while managing multiple assignments and priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience as a Reporter or in a similar role in journalism or media.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct thorough research and interviews to gather information.
  • Familiarity with digital journalism tools, including content management systems and social media platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with sources and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as news events require.
